Description
These are another 2 drawings I made in 1993 using my first computer, a Mac II, and a neat drawing program called Canvas. Yes, these are also photo scans of prints which I luckily saved, because all my digital files in the Mac got lost in 1998 when I couldn't transfer them to a new pc.
The second pic is the most complex drawing I made with that first computer, and I still don't know how I managed to draw it on a 13 inch 640 x 480 8-bit monitor (which was actually considered a hi-end monitor and cost $1000.)
The rest of the pics are actual photos of this starship, which I made with mostly paper and wood.

Impressive. Reminds me of hand drawn blueprints of a steam loco I found. Sadly the old paper didn't resist and fell into pieces
In the old days all blueprints were basically drawn by hand :-)
I actually recall having a drafting class in high school.
TNG era from the creation date (and design accents) - a big ship well done, much more ambitious than anything I would even try and design. I'm a little dubious on that top warp nacelle, it looks like its held in place by a catwalk =O ... what was the overall reason for sitting down and taking on the project?
The top warp nacelle enabled the saucer to detach with independent warp capability. Credit for this basic design goes to my local Star Trek club .... I just refined it and built a model because I was motivated by all those happy ST fans ... plus, I always preferred building stuff rather than playing with purchased toys since I was a kid ;-)
And BTW, seeing children being amazed and mesmerized by the model at various SF conventions was priceless :-)
You can bring a whole colony in that ship!
A 1000 person colony could easily fit in there :-)
Nice model-building! I used to make spacecraft from paper and card as a teenager, way back in the 1970s. They were entertainment for my little brothers mostly. Some of them could even dock with each other.
Nice to see your work, thanks for bringing back memories!
My first spaceship model was that corny-looking paper rocket I made in 1970, and posted here last year ;-)
Wow! Brilliantly done.
