I've spent much of this spring in the garden, replanning and replanting after having yo take out my beloved silver birches that succumbed to honey fungus. I , and many of the local birds (they were the tallest treees in the neigbourhood at around 60 feet) will miss them...

This is so beautiful.
This is peaceful, beautiful...charming in one word. Our garden is my wife's territory...I enjoy it and help my wife when there's something special to do (too heavy, too dangerous, too....) This year, the neighborhood is colonized by blackbirds that sing all day... it’s sometimes a bit annoying when you dream of a nap in the sun !
could be worse...the ones in my garden sing at night too!
Did that some years ago. To get rid of the invading birch seeds. Still have some beeches, a gingko, etc. A beautiful pic to remember them.
