An old render, repurposed as entry 15 in the May 2026 Evoke Sound - Tick Tock Grandfather Clock mini challenge
(I accidentally uploaded the colour image for the mini challenge, not the greyscale one I'd intended).
Here's the text I included with the entry:
If you don't hear the clock you're probably too young to remember. (my memory said that you could hear the ticking clock, but it appears not - just the images if concentration crumbling - 1960 version of course) This is just a repurposed crop of eyes only from a very old render to roughly ma5ch the evocative image. The original render took far longer than the t8me state below, which is simplt the time to crop and upload))

Too late I thought of a better image, just as evocative of a ticking clock - the last scene of The Day The Earth Caught Fire. A newspaper print room, an old 1960s radio, and prints of two alternative headlines...

Scary Eye - Trilogy...
Noooooo... don't look into his eyes... Errr.. 'ang on a mo'... that was the original picture.
I think his eye's only scary in this repurposed image cos the freaky alien kids are in his brain and his eyes are only bloodshot cos of the concentration - must...think of... a brick... wall... it's nearly 8.30... brick... wall... BOOM! :0)

I really like this, and have watched the movie.
Thanks. I only remember the 1960 movie version, which I thought was fantastic when I saw it many years ago. Apparently the "must think of a brick wall" wasn't in the book.
