One is almost left to wander if in fact it is the last moment for him or her. The story lead you to believe that he is on his last bits of energy after recuing her, but then again visual tell a different story as she looks in very bad shape also. (please excuse my interpretation of art images, as I don't always do so correctly)

I like your stories and accompanying images and this on is very dramatic for sure. These are the type of images that look amazing when animated. If you ever decide to get into animation with AI, this would make an excellent one to work with...the realism is superb! You have a great talent for creating beautiful images that go so well with your wonderful stories! :)
