The pilot bails out of Bachem Nadder as the tail separates to descend on its own parachute. The original plan was to recover the entire Nadder, minus its nose, but during testing the small amount of rocket fuel left in the tanks exploded on impact, destroying the plane. Subsequently the process was changed so that only the tail, which contained the expensive rocket engine, was parachuted for recovery. The first render shows the tail separating and the pilot jumping out of the midsection. The original pan was for the aircraft parachute to open and pull the aircraft away from the pilot. This is depicted in the second and third renders that show a slightly different sequence. The tail remains attached to the midsection as the parachute deploys, pulling the airframe away from the pilot as originally planned. The mid section is separated a moment later, so that only the tail descends on its parachute. The Bachem Nadder is in the Marketplace.
