excellent grungy setting.
It's wonderful how you depict the horses and the nighttime city in this style. The gritty atmosphere of an industrial city at that time is also very vivid. I wasn't even aware that Bouurieva had vision problems. It's all the more wonderful that Nova describes everything to her. Your description of Clara is interesting; I would have imagined her to be older.
