Always is.
Makes the wait feel shorter.
Makes the question feel settled.
She watches the glass.
Not me.
The Voight-Kampff runs.
No commentary.
No warning before it’s logged.
She won’t know it’s a final assessment
until it’s complete.
People think being watched feels tense.
It doesn’t.
It feels like counting.
When I leave,
the Voight-Kampff stays on.
