Now this airplane, called the B-1B Lancer, was in my opinion the coolest and sexiest plane of all.
I asked if I could climb inside and take it for a spin ... just a few loops around the city ... but they said no. I told them I'd be very careful and tried to bribe them with a chocolate bar, but again they said no. Then I offered them 2 chocolate bars ... and all I got as a big fake smile and another NO! :-(

What a plane! Good photo.
Thanks, Lyla :-)
Those chocolate bars you offered them only works on hungry Raptors my friend. Next time tell them Tom Cruise said it was OK if you took it out for a spin around the airfield...that should work! lol
You just need to reassure them that the plane will come back in the same shape you took it...kind of like when you rent a car. :-)
Good advice, Johnny!
And it wouldn't bode well for my reputation if I returned with a pile of torn and twisted metal instead of a plane ;-)
I wonder why they made it so long. Payload? Nice plane though, sleek. I guess you will have to join to fly it. - Bob
I suppose the longer the more room for fuel and bombs, without compromising speed.
Wonderful photos of the B-1!
Thanks, Blue :-)
Great shots of a cool plane!
Thanks, Buffalo :-)
love the lines on this.....now if only you could make a car look this cool :)
I've seen some amazing cars that look almost as cool ... but for practical use, like groceries, I now realize -- at my age -- how impractical they are :-)
Wou sieht ja gut aus das Teil. tolles Foto
The 2nd photo reminds me of a huge insect, with the nose, the wings and the white legs, and actually that comparison fascinates me, perhaps because I like to study insect behavior. Sometimes I feel a connection with them, maybe you have this with airplanes, Max ;-).
In the Netherlands we have a saying "I can't make chocolate out of it". Translated into English this would be this: "I can't make head or tail of it". This because you wanted to "blackmail the drivers'' with chocolate. :D
My favorite insect is the dragonfly, followed by the praying mantis.
I also like ships, submarines and chocolate muffins ;-))
