Description
We are in 1956 off the coast of Cuba or Florida. The new USS Forrestal makes it's shakedown tour. A carrier air wing with various types of aircraft is temporarily on board. Among them is the F7U Cutlass. An aircraft that was ahead of its time and would have had a brilliant career if it hadn't been for the typical engine problems of the era. Look at the technicals. They do not have ear protection yet. In the background is a Forrest Sherman Destroyer.
The Cutlass is being prepared for launch on the catapult one. Look at the missiles. It is Sparrow I, a first generation beam rider missile.
