PART 1 — WATCHING
I learned not to interfere with the city.
You watch long enough, it fixes itself.
People think hiding means staying in the dark.
It doesn’t.
It means showing up before anyone looks.
Leaving before they care.
I stand where I don’t belong. The crowd shifts around me.
Neon flickers.
Footsteps slow.
Something slips out of rhythm.
That’s usually how it starts.
My job isn’t to catch people. It’s to decide when the question’s over.
