No AI here, folks…. This is the real deal… Wrinkles and all. But still in love after all these (55) years.
Just a quick update: Jo is doing well, but still in the rehab center. She’s getting therapy daily and doing quite well. The staff at the center all love her and are doing a great job.
She still cannot put any weight on that right ankle (it was a very severe break – 3 fracture points) so she’s having to learn to get around mostly with the left leg. It’s not easy. But she’s a brave lady, and I’m proud of her.
We see the surgeon on the 11th, and hopefully he’ll have some good news for us. United Health Care said this would be the last week they would cover, but an appeal has been filed, so we’ll see what happens. They’ve ordered a wheelchair for when she comes home.
For myself, I’ve been busy with tons of paperwork, and still cleaning up the mess the scammers made out of our accounts and so on. Thankfully we have a great friend who is the manager of our local branch, and she’s been a life-saver.
I’m still tied up with a lot of stuff but have been popping in when I get a chance. I’m still going to be mostly out of action here for the foreseeable future, but in the few spare moments I have, I’m doing some re-writing on the TNA story. It WILL be back! I don’t know exactly when, but hopefully sooner than later. Don’t give up on the Girls

Young love is cute, but there's something very special about a love that has stood the test of time. I'm glad to hear Jo is getting better.
It's nice to see the real people behind the pictures. Less nice is reading about your difficulties. 55 years... Respect. And still in love. That's a beautiful thought and a great example to follow. I wish her well, I had to be retained again back in 2012 I lost everything could only walk with the help of three Nurses, but bit by bit I got there, it dose not happen over night, it is an up hill walk, but the view from the hill top is well worth the walk

Popped in to see if there was an update, and am so happy to see this picture! Give Jo a hug from me, and tell her we’re pulling for her! Bill broke his leg in 2018 or 2019 (time flies, and I’m not 100% sure of the year) and it was a long recovery process. It’s a lot of boring work, but Jo is tenacious, and she’ll get through it! Love to you both!

Jo's home now, and we have therapists coming in a few times a week. She's making good progress, and the therapists are pleased with her progress. The Orthopedist's office took new x-rays the 11th, and the bone-healing is looking good. She's a little frustrated (me too) and how slow the progress is, but 3 fracture points in one ankle ain't gonna mend overnight!
When she gets back on her feet again, we need to get together and snag dinner again!
You two look great together Rod...the affection for each other shines through so well! Best wishes to Jo's full recovery! :-)

you know the old expression "wings of a butterfly" (that the very wings of a butterfly can change the course of the world), well these are the wings of a huge and glorious bird...this is one of the sweetest and most beautiful uploads anywhere...we hear about jo and you many times over the years, and it's so clear how deeply you two love each other; but this pic is the sun and the moon. I'm so sorry jo went through all this and hope her recovery will be as pain-and-frustration free as possible, and i wish you all the strength and love in the world as you care-take for your beloved wife. Hey, Mark! Thank you SO much for the beautiful words and your support, my good friend! As always, your skill with the pen - or keyboard - shines through.
The funny thing is, when we first started talking about getting married, my dad pulled me aside, and said, "It won't last a year..." My mom said, "She doesn't have a brain in her head!" I teased them forever after about "sometimes parents miss the mark.." when they finally realized they were wrong!
Jo is home now, and we have a couple therapists that come in 2 or 3 times a week to help her. Eventually she'll be able to walk again, and we both are looking very forward to that!
It's still going to be a while before I'm back full time, but I'm slowly trying to stop in and say 'hello' when I can. Hope all is well with you, Mark! You are one of the shining lights here, my friend!
