Description
I found myself whistling one of my favorite songs, “The Yellow Rose of Texas,” the other day. The song supposedly was inspired by a woman, Emily D. West, who distracted General Santa Anna at the battle of San Jacinto so that the Texans won the fight.

Good song nicely illustrated. I have that song on a 78 RPM record. It's one of my favourites also. :-)
