Description
Elizabeth: "Darling, I'm so thrilled -- I must say, this is a most wonderfully exciting vacation!"
John: "Indeed, my dear. I'm glad you're happy."
Minutes later:
"Darling, why have we stopped? We are in the middle of nowhere..."
"I don't know, dear. Must be some good reason ... trains stop all the time."
Elizabeth, suddenly looking up: "Did you hear that?"
John: "Hear what?"
Elizabeth: "A thud ... like something fell on the roof?"

I love a good mystery. :-) Good image.
I hear you ;-) Thanks, Lyla :-)
Ah, the elegance train travel of the past. Nice. Nice mix of mediums. - Bob
Thanks, Bob :-)
A thud.....on the roof.....maybe just the conductor doing his rounds, checking for stowaways...lol
Beautiful scene and an era of travel I wish I could have experienced :)
Actually it was a mixed bag -- it was generally far more pleasant than today's economy-class airlines, plus you had a narrow bed to sleep in, and better food. But if you opened the window you often got a mouthful of thick smoke .. LOL.
BTW, this set was also inspired by your works ;-) (have you noticed anything unusual in that dark window?)
I have not been here in about 4 months Max, so I am catching this train with ticket in hand, just as it leaves the station and what do you know, now there is a thud on the roof as if something up there is prowling around on this luxury train I am on. I see something out the window, it's too big to be an overgrown possum.
I can only hope my delicious dinner is not about to be interrupted with some two legged werewolf hybrid creatures that have now hopped on top of the train roof. Your images are beautiful Max, I missed viewing them! lol :-)
Johnny! We were just talking about you recently! Glad to see you pop back in -- and I could recognize that avatar a mile away ;-)
And a 'possum'? LOL ... nah, it's probably just a bunny ... nothing to worry about ;-)
