Description
... the Myth of the Soul on a Journey to Love and Fullfillment.
The story is about Psyche, a beautiful mortal Princess, who attracts the jealousy of the Goddess Aphrodite. Because of her Beauty, she found no Husband and misguided by an Oracle, she was banned to a wild Mountain-Ridge.
To punish Psyche, Aphrodite orders her son Eros, the God of Love, to strike her with an Arrow of love so that she falls in love with the ugliest creature. But when Eros sees Psyche, he falls in love with her himself and takes her to his hidden Garden.
Eros only visits Psyche at night and forbids her to see him. Curious and influenced by her sisters, Psyche breaks the ban and looks at Eros while he is sleeping. In doing so, hot oil from a Lamp falls on him, and Eros awakens, hurt and disappointed. He leaves her, and Psyche is distraught.
To win Eros back, Psyche embarks on a dangerous journey and must pass various tests imposed by Aphrodite. Finally, she proves her love and determination by even entering the Underworld. In the end, Psyche is recognized by the Gods as the Goddess of the Soul, was granted Immortality by Zeus and She and Eros are reunited, sealing their love forever.
