Hi all and hope your well...playing catch up today while I wonder what new work my Muse will send me on :)
This is an older work I forgot all about until I found it again today. Was only a WIP so I tidied it up and here we are. I know this isn't for everyone and for me this was an amazing show on TV and what I loved the most was the models/sets they made all those years ago :)
Thanks for dropping by and see you in your galleries in a moment, peace :)

I don't recall ever seeing that show.... But this looks like someone on that island sure loves to play with rockets!
Also brings back memory of my first and last launch when my rocket flew up so fast and high that it's cone broke away from the chute, never to be found again:-(
Really....maybe wasn't a thing in your neck of the woods in 1965. It was a TV show about the Tracy family who were known as International Rescue to the outside world. There were 5 Thunderbirds (The craft you see, minus TB5 which is orbiting Earth)
The sets were amazing, hand made miniatures and marionettes as the leads....was a great show when like 5 or 6...lol
Thanks for taking a peek Max :)
First SF shows I recall watching (in B&W) were Orion, a German show, and Lost in Space which totally fascinated me ... but that was almost half-million hours ago;-)
Never seen Orion that I can recall and also loved Lost in Space...I think I still have a OBJ version of that Robot floating in my Runtime somewhere...need to have a look and see if he and Robby can get into trouble together :)
Love how you quantify time :)
I was right...Not seen Orion but found all 7 episodes on youtube with English subs so will have to have a watch later and see what its all about :)
5... 4... 3... 2... 1! This was my favorite show back in the day. Wonderful work, and thanks for the memories!
and now I have the theme song in my head...Thank you and FAB :)
I can hear the theme song. This is a great tribute to even our childhood.
Yeah I love this series and thanks for dropping by :)
Awesome scene
Thank you very much :)
Never heard of that show...I nevertheless can appreciate your image, it's a great one.
You missed out Gaius.....but I may be bias...lol
Thank you :)
Loved all the Gerry Anderson puppet shows - even as an adult - though Fireball XL5 was my favourite.
There are a number of YouTube videos about the Century 21 studios featuring restored unused scenes, interviews with the directors, effects people and puppeteers. They are fascinating and quite enlightening. Worth a look at. :-)
Thank you for dropping by and have already book marked youtube for some fun viewing later tonight. Never knew he did Space 1999, another fave for me :)
Thank you :)
I looked up fireball and realize not only have I seen it I also had a metal, friction rolling model of it when I was a kid. Thank you for bringing back a time I had long forgotten :)
Beautiful sci-fi image,great render and light!!! 👍🙋♂️
Thank you so much :)
Amazing
Thank you so much :)
You know, if a guy has to watch a puppet show, this would probably be it. I really loved the miniatures though. Good work showing them off.
The miniatures definitely....puppets...meh....did I mention I loved the miniatures :)
Thank you :)
the air force thunderbirds cancelled the fly over at the air force graduation cause of weather. i really enjoy this incredible image.
That would frustrate me...going to see something that cool only to have it cancelled by the weather.
Thank you :)
Hey nice effect work :) Glad you came back to finish this one
Lucky I spotted it and still had the models....I deleted so much Poser stuff after my last issue last year with this site I had no idea the if the save file would still work :)
Thank you :)
Great tribute to the series! I watched it when I think I was about ten. I loved Stingray and Fireball xl5 as well!
Great time to be a kid...way better than today as far as TV entertainment goes I think :)
Thank you :)
Wonderful scene with the Thunderbirds. Loved those Gerry Anderson Superanimation shows back in the 60's.
You and me both my friend...Great time and era :)
Thank you :)
Cool !
Thank you so much :)
Last night I actually got to see a bunch of footage of that classic Thunder Birds show, and you're right -- the amount of work to create all those miniatures and to film it so well was a monumental achievement.
By comparison that Orion show was way cheesier and I only watched it because the visuals amazed my childish child eyes, before Lost in Space grabbed hold of me.:-)
Gunna watch some Orion tonight and was hoping it was the visuals that caught your attention. I see there was only 7 episodes on youtube.
To my childhood self, there were few things better (In the world!) than the Thunderbirds! My brothers and I spent hours sitting in our living room chairs pretending that we were in the cockpits of our favorite craft (I always had a thing for Thunderbird One).
As an apparent lifelong Thunderbird fan, I hope you'll join me in just pretending that the abominable 2004 movie never happened.
Also... aren't you showing your age just a wee bit?😜😉
I wanted to be Virgil....TB2 as he carried all the cool toys...lol and age is just a number which is good because as I get older I keep forgetting the numbers :)
Thank you :)
A tear wells up...this was the beginning of my love for sci-fi. Beautifully realised creation Steff.
Well thank you kind Sir and hope your well and a joy to see you dropping by my humble gallery once more :)
nicely done... one of my fav shows as a kid
Oh it was a great series and never realized it was only 3 seasons until I was an adult but I still watch :)
Thank you :)
I don't remember that show, but by the looks of your awesome render, it was probably a winner.
That's a shame as it was awesome for the time but I thank you for the visit :)
Amazing image my friend.
Thank you my friend :)
I remember watching some of these way back when.... Really wonderful work and remembrance of this fun show!
Those were fun days Rod...or at least I believe so....as you get older remembering is a big thing at least for me...lol
Thank you :)
I think there were way more than 7 episodes of Orion, buy you aren't missing much. The story was more adult than for children, and probably better than the cheesy, crummy visuals, but I have no motivation to read all the subtitles to find out - lol.
Only found the 7 episodes along with complaints as to why the show was cut....Idk but so far so good :)
Wow! Great render, brings back childhood memories!!
They were good old days and for me the birth of Scifi :)
Thank you and for dropping by :)
YAY! Love it. My absolote favourite show as a kid, and still holds its own.
Same here but not a fan of the modern film works so far.
Thank you and for dropping by :)
You have put together a fantastic scene! It's great to hear how it brings back such great memories of this show from so many who have commented! :-)
I was amazed to see the response and extremely happy that I am not alone anymore when it comes to this kind of nostalgia :)
This is really a fantastic render, great ocean island scene.
Never seen Thunderbirds I guess because it was a British sci-fi television show. The only British sci-fi I remember was Dr. Who which I have the newer seasons.
You can find the odd episode on youtube and it was the model making in Thuderbirds that got me hooked, Watched a lot of Dr Who in my time as well...lol
Thanks for dropping by :)
