Description
Upon completion of Germany's Starbolt 1, the first Level-3 faster-than-light vessel in human history, several unmanned field tests were conducted by sending the ship to Pluto's orbit and back. The trips took just under 3 seconds each way, with no adverse effects on either plant or animal samples.
Two weeks later a manned mission was greenlit and the destination chosen was Tau Ceti, a star system just under 12 light years from Earth.
Starbolt 1 lifted gently from its Moon base hangar, ascended to high orbit, aligned its trajectory, and engaged its FTL drive. 19 hours later the 3 crew members awoke from their nap to find themselves in the Tau Ceti system. Their attempt to suppress their excitement was not successful.
Over the next five days, they conducted a thorough survey of the system's major planets and found one with both water and atmospheric oxygen. After conducting as much analysis from orbit as possible, they took the lander down to its surface.
Before even setting foot outside, they saw through the view-port that they had just made history -- the very first humans to witness extraterrestrial life.

Good story and image as usual. - Bob
Thanks Bob!
Super again !
Thank you, Water:-)
Too bad for Chinese lolllll
LOL.
So far only peoples immature egos got hurt, so no real harm to anyone yet;-)
I just came straight from the government surplus warehouses and snatched me an FTL-1 that was on sale. Thanks to a spy who intercepted the communication between you and Steff. I was able to acquire this engine device without any delay and will use it on my upcoming interplanetary vacation trip to Mars.
You just go ahead Max and keep making these amazing FTL machines faster and I will continue to pick up the older models at reduced costs. I just might have to start sharing the profits with you my friend. I look forward to what type of extraterrestrial life they find on this planet. This planet image looks very nice, I hope any life found is friendly and not harmful. :-)
Don't get too excited, Johnny -- this planet's full of vegetables -- and only vegetables! --- unless you love vegetables:-)
But it would make a great second-home, and far more hospitable than that Martian ball-of-sand!
Excellent move forward in this story but maybe this tech it doing it all to fast, 3secs to Pluto and 3 seds back...not even time to get a pic...lol
and as for very first humans to witness extraterrestrial life....maybe they should look inside my fridge or my ex-wife....don;t need FTL to witness that...lmao
Awesome work Max :)
LOL!
3 seconds to Pluto is what you'll get with FTL-3 ... it's overkill ... like using a motorbike to get from your kitchen to your bedroom! Unless you want to use Pluto as a deep-freezer for your bulk foods:-)
That would be an indescribable thrill! Excellent work on this hopeful look into the future!
Thank you, Rod!
This new graphic has turned out simply great!
Thank you, Ute. I see you got a fresh new look!
I hope they take their time and search every inch cus there has GOT TO BE a McDonalds there somewhere
great detail on this max
Lol -- Luckily, McDonald's only succeeded in overtaking every inch of Earth ... the rest of the galaxy has so far been spared!
Beautiful scene !
