Miniature photography is actually fairly difficult, making something look like something else by putting it into a different context. Usually the lighting is the hardest thing to work out, but it looks like you've hit upon the solution - no light is better than natural light. The rest can be handled with bounce cards and such. Well done. I like photoshopped magazine covers too, as they're things in themselves, and you make it work here.
I'm sure that a lot of 1/6 modern GI Joes have pics of her hanging up in their squad bay, escpecially the ones who mustered in from east-coast states.
