"All right, guys", said the captain, "we're approaching the strange object captured by the telescopes. Hold on tight, we'll just make a pass over it before getting any closer."
The crew listened to the woman's calm words, hoping that the strange warping of space beyond the structure wasn't an indication of some unknown danger.
