Used to watch these guys fly overhead while my ship was running plane guard for the Connie during flight ops.

I was onboard the Constellation (Connie) only for a moment while it was in port. I never was on a carrier while at sea. Instead, I was on a destroyer, whose job it was to protect the carrier and rescue downed pilots. My ship frequently operated with the Connie, as well as other carriers.
