Description
_______ Here's a photo I took earlier this month in the Swiss Alps, more particularly in the Jungfrau region, called the Bernese Oberland. This is the place where the highest summits of the country are visible in a single 360-degree view, from places like Männlichen, where I was standing and taking the photo, not far from this bunch of 'Milka'cows here in the foreground.
_______ The Jungfrau in the background is towering above the Männlichen high plateau that you can reach through an impressive cable car from Wengen, where international skiing competitions are held in the winter season. In only fifteen minutes, you reach the altitude of 2,200 meters and then you can face the three Swiss alpine giants : the legendary Eiger- 3,967-meters (13,015 ft), the Mönch - 4,107 meters (13,474 ft) and the Jungfrau -4,158 meters (13,642 ft).
_______ The pyramid-shaped mountain to the right, with its fully-covered summit is the Silberhorn (3,695 m or 12,123 ft)), meaning 'Silver horn or peak' in English, a mountain that inspired J.R.R. Tolkien in his trilogy 'The Lord of the Rings'. The Silberhorn in Tolkien's writings was renamed the 'Celebdil', one of the three mountains bordering and overlooking the Moria, the Middle-Earth.

Amazing landscape, perfect capture !!
Ah! Karma ! Bravo! C'est du grand art! 👌👍
Oh my gosh, an incredible, incredible scene. A gorgeous place, and a wonderful image of it. And thanks for all that info too. Easy to see how someone could be inspired by a place like this!
Wow, what a breath-taking view! The cattle look so carefree and nonchalant about how wonderful their surroundings are. Thank you so much for sharing your photo and the interesting info.
This is such a gorgeous place to be my friend, amazing capture and info to.
A very beautiful scene! Gorgeous capture! Most interesting information as well! Many fine kudos on this fantastic presentation!
splendid
What a beautiful place, with the spectacular mountains in the background behind the cows serenely resting in the meadow. Fantastic shot!
Oh my that's gorgeous!
Magnifique photo
glorious capture, and write up der Jean-Luc. Hugs galore. DiDi. xx
Glorious capture! Looking at it one can almost forget of the trial and tribulations in so many parts of the world...
Magnificent photo! I can see why Tolkien was taken with that peak.
Amazing view, really great shot with the cows, love it
Such an amazing view. Very beautiful country. Green grass in the foreground and snow covered peak in the background. Very lovely photo.
So peaceful and beautiful!
Exellent done.
You are a sensational photographer. The framing of this beautiful tribute to Mother Natures sculpting abilities is truly awesome. The mountain is framed perfectly against the greenery of the lower high country. Beautiful job !!!
What a magnificent scene! WOW!
Very nice shot and great point.. so they stand reverse to each other, like a shadows, as if parallel universes..!
Reminds me of my brief time in Switzerland! Glorious capture!
