Here's another test render of the outfit Chasfh is working on, and I must say, I really like it already. Except for a wee bit of pokethrough, it fits well, and bends well. I especially noticed that in the skirt, which can often look pretty goofy. This one bends really nicely. I haven't tried it with d-force yet but I will when I get some time. All in all this is really shaping up well. Since this was just a test, it's a bare bones -as is render. That hair really seems to have almost killed it, that and possibly the hdr file I used was too hefty. This one bogged down to a crawl and took over an hour. I'm going to re-do it with a change in HDR files and I've already ran it through Scene Optimizer to knock the mesh and textures down by half. I'm interested in comparing a side by side of the two, and seeing how much faster it will render.
Otherwise, I had to drag my poor cat off to the vet yesterday, and of course she was absolutely terrified, she's naturally quite shy. Somehow, I can't figure out out how, she burned her mouth and throat. Soft food watered down food only now.
She's still a bit mad at me for taking her to that horrid place. And what vet thought it was a good idea to try to shove a syringe into a cats mouth? Luckily for me she'll take it in her food, so pain meds and antibiotics went down in a minute flat. Eyedrops for a troublesome corneal cyst however.... That's going to be a bit of a fuss.
On the local pandemic front, we went from a flattened curve in April and May to double previous cases in 4 days. Anyone who says they don't want to social distance and wear a mask, I do not have kind thoughts towards you. People are out partying it up in droves, so this is only going to get a lot worse.

Very cool outfit!
There is something so appealing about the casual pose on the edge of a thing that looks like it could be heavy and imposing. Wonderful POV, too!
Very fine pose and outfit. I really like the hair style and glasses. Super!
Cats really really really really hate the vet! I can attest to that from long years of experience! And doctoring them afterward is like pulling teeth from a crocodile! LOL! They don't like that either!
A very nice test render here! Looks like great potential for this product! Nicely presented by this exotic character.
She can get bitey enough when she's playing, never mind when she's telling me to "F* off with that syringe!" She was a feral, so she will bite with no hesitation, even though she loves me to bits.
Cool outfit.
very nice PoV and cool posing, crossing arms or legs always seems easy until you try to do it, lol
Great picture. I'm sorry to hear about your poor cat. Hopefully she'll be back to normal soon.
Fingers and toes are crossed, thanks.
Cool image but I won't copy her hair colours...too old !!! The second waver is at hand...people are crazy and don't accpet the fact that the virus is a killer.
great pose and pov!
Excellent stuff, glad you're liking it so far! Spent a ridiculous amount of time sorting the skirt (as, like you, I really notice when those don't conform the way they should!), but learnt a lot doing it, so it's all to the good, I hope.
Thanks for the feedback and taking the time to play with this, most appreciated!
The skirt works perfectly!
Amazing !
A simple image is often best, as pictures like this show. She looks very believable in that pose and outfit, and the composition is good. She looks rather disinterested, possibly due to the lack of eye contact.
I've been playing around with image-based lighting myself, and yeah, it slows things down. The resulting light quality though, that can be stunning, so sometimes it's worth the wait. I often set experimental renders running when I go to bed or while I am making some furniture or something. It can be a useful way to see good results without all the waiting around.
HDR's will slow things down if they are huge files. In this case, I suspect it's the hair. That's always a lot of calculations to do.
Superb character and outfit, great composition too!
Wonderful character and outfit...loving the hair...great work on the POV and lighting..top job..!!
I totally agree with you on Covid-19. We are totally rudderless in the U.S. in our approach to fighting this. We need real leadership and we need to quit focusing on personal freedoms and start caring about our responsibility to others and our community.
I am so sorry for the poor kitty. I wish her a speedy recovery.
Now to the fun part. This character and render ROCK !!! i am still struggling with casting great shadows as seen in this one. If you have any tips for a beginner I would love a site mail.
Will do! I'll send you something later today? I think? Maybe?
bitchin' cool cyberpunk model. I play it safe and wear a mask myself. my friend here locally does not. he voiced LOUDLY my opinion are like "ASSHOLES" EVERYBODYS GOT ONE. glad you have your head on right. not sure how much worse we will get. but I feel it will get really bad before we flatten out.
Great character and scene! Hope kitty gets well. I've heard that cats are angry because their out-of-work owners are spending too much time at home. "Owners" is probably not a good word.
Mine freaks when I leave for 5 minutes. She hates it when I'm not around. She doesn't really care for anyone else though. She's a funny little thing. She's eating now, so that's a good sign.
I love your new renderwork, which is looking simply great!
Beautifully done
fabulous
This is a very cool character. The bright colors are fun. I like the point of view, too.
I hope kitty feels better, soon. Stay safe!
Sorry to hear about the CAT. Hope it gets better soon. Great image, my friend.
Stay safe and secure. We won't talk about staying sane...
Prayers for you sweet kitty.
wonderful image!
Cool stuff, love the hair
Man, I like this just as it is.... Very dramatic lighting and POV. This is epic!
Well, I hope kitty is doing better - I can't even imagine the fun of trying to give eyedrops to a cat....
Nothing like a good pandemic to bring out the best in stupidity..... 🙄
100 % Cool!!
Great loocking character.
Great POV and beautiful work!
Magnificently casual and relaxed. Wonderful.
Your model looks gorgeous and has a lot of style. Excellent creation 👍😎
