Description
I did this image a few years ago for an environment competition. Stepped rice paddies glow in the late day sun.

Great use of the spline feature, can't figure out how you did all the different water levels (height slope texture ?), but it's a fantastic result.

Jif, it's all grayscale terrains. The dirt is one terrain, and the water is another terrain that sits inside it. Same for all the stepped paddies. The valley is two terrains and a water plane. Thanks for your comments!
