The corrupt sheriff of some coastal town has captured the Dread-Pirate Roberta - it had been a trap, a false meeting at a pub to discuss the movement of cargo, for the Dread-Pirate Roberta was less a cold-blooded killer than a mover of cargo with shady backgrounds. Still, her public hanging was not scheduled until sundown - many hours away, so the slimy sheriff and his 3 most loyal cronies figured they could have memorable fun at the small piratess's expense. (brr, bing, brr, fast forward, the next 13 images can't be shown on Renderosity!) It is almost sundown, and Roberta is free, perched upon the top of her former cage, the prison courtyard wall out of reach of any normal heavy-boned man ... but Roberta was no man. She was agile, having grown up swinging effortlessly through the rigging of a rolling ship at sea - she could float through the air. As the sun lowered and the final blows of hammers finished the gallows out in the public square, the Dread-Pirate Roberta spun silently out over the prison wall, along roofs and walls, to reach the turbid river and a simple swim to freedom in the vast ocean. Would there still be a public hanging? Perhaps - if the Sheriff still breathed, the city elders would demand his own execution as payment for letting his crotch override his brain!
